WITNESS DISTILLERY TO OFFER HAND SANITIZER TO HEALTHCARE WORKERS BEGINNING IN FAYETTE COUNTY

We are committed to doing what we can to help during this very challenging time.

WITNESS DISTILLERY is committed to the community and the health of its’ future customers. We are pleased to announce we will be producing hand sanitizer that will initially be made available to employees in the health care community that are at greatest risk of COVID-19 exposure in the workplace. Once we are confident their needs are met, we will determine if we can make additional quantities available to the public.

“While we won’t be open to the public until this fall, we’ve been producing whiskey and other distilled spirits almost daily over the last year and barreling for future sales. We’ve decided to redirect our production towards this effort to help our friends, neighbors and future customers during this uncertain time”, said Cindy Radliff, co-founder of WITNESS DISTILLERY. “We’re happy to initially shoulder this expense of doing our part to help stop the spread of this disease.”

Craft distillers just received approval from the Federal agency, the TTB, to allow the production of hand sanitizer that is in compliance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards. Since distilleries produce the primary ingredient in sanitizers, it’s an opportunity to help fill a real need.

“We are waiting on some quantities of raw materials needed to make the finished product, but we do have some quantities available and we’re going to get started this week”, Cindy commented.

About WITNESS DISTILLERY

WITNESS DISTILLERY was founded in 2015 as a grain-to-glass distillery.  All our whiskeys including bourbon, rye and 5-grain are tributes to the distillers who’ve crafted spirits in Illinois since the early 1800’s. Just as they did, we began with pristine water, local organic and non-GMO grains and we mill, ferment, distill, barrel, and bottle all on-site at our facility in Vandalia, IL.

We are located across the street from the beautiful State Capitol building in Vandalia, in a historic 1870s building preserved as a tribute to the craftsmen that built it.
